Angry Gods And Dragons

A Divided House - Angry Gods and Dragons

Lyle draws the attention of a Lt for the army of Koryo. He moves to the front next to the wall.

Adele and Obelis

Kalak comes to visit them in his tent. He asks them to gather information by visiting his mother – the mother of dragons – Hawat. Karak gives Adele a coin that she can rub when she wants to go visit. He then sends Adele and Obelis as emissaries so they can get into the city to collect the rest of the party members.

Start in the reading room with the Queen and Interior Minister. They find a secret door behind a bookcase that leads to the Well of Souls. Traveling a short way down, they find the twin suits of armor from the last choice.

Adelle, Obelis, and Lyle

Approaching the city, Adelle and Obelis see Lyle and join up – unwillingly. They go to the command tent of Koryo, and he is actually there – not looking like a dragon. Just like Kalak, he wants information so he gives Lyle a scale that he can rub to take him and his companions to Duncan. Duncan is a young dragon that is not attached to the conflict. Koryo says that he cannot track the other party members and cannot tell them where to look for them.

After being asked to make a choice, the group decides that the good dragon god should compete against the elder god of evil. However, they don’t have a magic item. The closest item at hand is the scepter of Queen Kristen.

Where we are now.

Adele, Obelis and Lyle are headed towards the Castle of Queen Kristen hoping to meet the other party members. Others (everyone else) are presumably headed to the treasury to appropriate the scepter and any other jewels that may be “lying” around

More Gods, Great

With single minded purpose, Obelis leads Adele and Lyle to the castle where they are reunited with the other PCs.

Unfortunately while making their way across the city, the other PCs in the castle (Rubix, Hawk, and Korvus) tried to convince Alvina and Queen Kristen that they should give them the Scepter of the Kingdom – the most powerful magic item they knew of. Their reasoning was that it could save the kingdom. Alvina said no, and the Queen left the chamber.

Now altogether, the PCs were escorted to chambers for the night. Rubix received a note as the evening meal was being cleaned away, that led her to the scepter – not sure who gave it to them, but possibly the queen was involved.

The scepter turned out to be inhabited by the spirit of Morgan who claims to be the great (x10) grandfather of the Queen. He also is a worshiper of Tan Gun, the good dragon.

As they were discussing what to do, the party was attacked by pillars of darkness that extended tendrils towards the characters. Morgan stated that they were from Grundfos, the evil elder god. Weapons were only partially effective against them.

Sensing the danger, Adele rubbed the coin given to her by Kalak and they were transported to an idyllic setting where they met Hawat, the mother of the elder gods. She didn’t have a lot of information to share, but did provide an image (a scrying) of Treager and Yul Guk contesting with some spherical chaotic being. They gave the rod of command to it and as it was destroyed, the chaos lessened but did not go away. Hawat also scoffed at the idea that Treager and Yulguk were working together.

Hawat sent them back to Kalak’s tent, and the party decided to try the coin that Koryo gave them to see if Duncan had any more information. Duncan seemed a little upset to see them, but did reinforce the information given to the party by Hawat. Duncan sent them back to see Tan Gun (good dragon), and now the party finds itself in a small inn (More like a street cart with a roof) facing an elderly Asian gentleman working over a large pot of noodles.

Unanswered questions:

Why are the PCs given the task of making the choices?
What is the chaos sphere?
Why are Treager and Yul Guk working together?
How tasty do they think those noodles are – it’s been awhile since lunch?

Noodle Shop of Horrors

A short session.

Facing the noodle shop owner and his helper, it is hard to tell who is more surprised. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the elderly gentleman is Tan Gun, dragon god of good. Morgan recognizes him instantly, and various characters see through his guise.

Tan Guns helper reveals himself to be the dragon Won Hyo and currently has his fat body and tiny fangs wrapped around and sunk into Lyle’s leg.

A series of questions ensues as the group establishes the current story, and relates the information they have on Yul Guk and Treager. As this info is being digested, along with some fabulous noodles, a sinister presence begins to surround the shop. Tan Gun transforms into his true dragon shape (huge sinuous white body with a colored neck ruffle). Many of the characters receive a boost to their attributes, and everyone feels the presence of a “god-like” power that they never realized they possessed before.

What is the presence outside the noodle shop?
Where did the power come from?
How do you get Won Hyo to stop chewing on Lyle?

What do you do?

We've All Got Powers Down Here

Tan Gun, the dragon god of good bestows on each member of the party a portion of his power before fading and diminishing to nothingness. Wan Hyo and Morgan cry in despair to see their friend and deity leave them.

As Tan Gun fades, soldiers of Koryo and the city guard enter the main entrance to the shop and Grundfos manifests in the back of the shop (along with his dark pillars). Battle ensues and the PCs flex some of their powers. Hawk uses his speed to rescue people from the dark pillars, Obelis uses her ability to protect others to shield Lyle and Rubix. Korvus uses his ability to calm and Baklance a situation to pause the fighting for a few moments. Boris uses his ability to control metal to put the noodle pot over the top of Grundfos – realizing as he does so that it is more than just a pot.

The party escapes just as Kalak arrives and starts battling the soldiers of Koryo. Escaping down a stair into the basement, they discover a passage leading into tunnels under the city. Lyle uses his power to research any library to find an old map that shows that they should be heading to the Well of Souls.

Making their way to one of the many storerooms under the ancient inn, the party successfully sneaks up and into the kitchen behind the bar. From there things get a little chaotic. Lyle turns invisible and sneaks out into the common room. One of the kitchen helpers yells it’s them and runs out the back door pursued by various party members. Rubix decides that it is time to speak with Treager and Yul Guk and uses her new power to collect up pints of beer from unsuspecting patrons.

The kitchen help is corraled, and true to form, Trager and Yul Guk make an appearance. When confronted by the party they are in no mood to reveal much. Now the group appeals to Duncan with the knowledge that they have. He tells them of the City of the Dead. A place long abandoned when the dragons first started apprenticing to the gods. It was however a place of primal magics and does seem like it could be where Treager and Yul Guk have been seen when scrying. He sends the party there, but warns them that his knowledge is sketchy and he cannot guarantee where they will end up.
